The book that I am currently reading is called My sisters keeper. It deals with many different social issues. One of the more larger issues is the economics of a family. The family has a child with a very rare form of Leukemia. The family is fairly well off, but their child’s medical procedures are very expensive. This is a family that has to work a lot. They have one child who is suing them, another one with cancer,and another one who gets himself into serious trouble all the time. When they are together they are happy until the issue of money comes in. Its very hard to keep track of it all when there is so much going on in everyday life. Money is a problem in a lot of homes, but unlike this family they don’t have to spend over 456,000 a month just for medical care.
This family has an odd case of money problems. Normally when you think of economical issues, you think of homeless people, or people who don’t have all that much money to spend. Its different for everyone. There are people in the world you have everything they could ever need or want. Then there are people who barley have anything. Some people who are well off don’t understand what its like to have nothing at all. People who have grown up rich don’t have any idea what its like not have everything at your fingertips. I can’t even imagine what it would it be like to have nothing. I guess I don’t really even think about it,but people do live that way.
