Reading Response on The Scorch Trials

The Scorch Trials by James Dashner is the sequel to the book The Maze Runner. In this novel, Thomas and his companions are forced to do these trials because they escaped the maze. They are now in this desert area and the natives call it the scorch and nobody can survive the scorch trials. The heat is unbearable and they're running out of food and water, but thomas and his team are determined to complete the tasks and get out of that awful world.

The reason they have to do this is because in the real world for them, there is a terrible disease called the flare, and the people that sent Thomas to this desert area thinks that thomas and his friends are the source of this disease. They are all being punished for no reason at all.

I think that its incredibly unfair that they have to do all this stuff when they haven't even been in the real world yet. Thomas and everyone else are trying to find a way out before the end of the trials so they don't have to do any other bad stuff. Im only about halfway through the book, but since it is the second one in the series, I have an idea on whats going to happen.
