Perks of being a wallflower

I am reading Perks of being a wallflower by Stephen Chbosky. I have not gotten very far into yet but what I have read is amazing. Its about this boy who doesn't really fit in and is very emotional. He has never stood out and didn't really have anyone to talk to, until he found friends to let him in.. They accepted him and didn't judge him like some of the other kids would have done. Charlie is the name of the boy and he has never been to a real school before so high school is all new for him. Its a coming of age novel that talks about the roller coaster days known as growing up.

In the beginning of the book charlie is writing a letter to someone and he addresses this person as someone who is considered a friend. someone who wouldn't stab you in the back. He also says "she told me to write to you" and I was wondering who that "she" was and what impact did she make on charlie's life to get him to write to this mysterious person.

Charlie thinks that everything he says or does is wrong and after he says something that he feels like he shouldn't have he starts to cry. After he does this his way of escaping the world is hiding under his pillow until he feels better again. In 8th grade his best friend committed suicide and I think that left a huge scar on charlie and that is why he has been acting the way that he has, with all the crying and how quiet he is. The new friends that charlie makes break down charlie's walls and make his feel like he has someone and that's really good for charlie. Its not like his parents don't talk to him or anything in fact they were all charlie talked to all summer, they just don't understand why charlie is acting the way he is.
